Running a nonprofit is hard.

You’re asked to wear a lot of hats, juggle a lot of balls, and spin a lot of plates. If that sounds like a circus to you…it is. But a lot less fun.

For many years, I was right there with you.

I loved the work. I believed deeply in the mission. And I had the privilege of working alongside extraordinary people who were trying to make their communities better places.

But I also remember what it felt like behind the scenes.

Working far too many hours.
Googling way too many things at 2:00 a.m.
And, eventually, experiencing some serious burnout.

Self-doubt.

Cynicism.

Feeling defeated.

Yeah. I had that.

I didn’t want that for myself. And I certainly don’t want that for you.

That’s where Hedgehog + Fox Collaborative began

I started this work because I believe nonprofit leaders deserve thoughtful support: People who can help them slow down, step back, and see the bigger picture when things feel overwhelming.

Over time, Hedgehog + Fox has grown to include collaborators who bring their own expertise to this work. Together, we partner with nonprofit organizations to strengthen leadership, clarify strategy, and tell the stories that move their missions forward.

We’re all about helping you find and keep the right leaders.

We’re all about helping your board and staff move together in the same direction.

And we’re all about helping you tell the stories that inspire others to care about the work you do.

The hedgehog and fox duality is one I know well...

The name Hedgehog + Fox comes from an old idea about two ways of seeing the world:

The hedgehog focuses on the big idea.
The fox notices all the details.

Nonprofit leaders need both.

Sometimes you’re deep in the weeds and need help reconnecting with the bigger vision.

Sometimes the vision feels clear, but the path forward feels overwhelming.

That’s where we come in.

We’ll be the hedgehog to your fox–and the fox to your hedgehog–helping you move forward with clarity, confidence, and a little less chaos along the way.
